Ship Fuel Sales in Fujairah Continue to Rise in August

Ship fuel sales at the Port of Fujairah in the UAE have shown continuous growth for the second consecutive month in August, reaching the highest level seen in four months.

According to data from the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone (FOIZ) shared by S&P Global Commodity Insights, total sales volumes for August hit 650,502 cubic meters, reflecting a 1.5% increase compared to July. Sales of low-sulfur marine fuel, which includes low-sulfur fuel oils and marine gas oils, rose to 461,865 cubic meters in August, marking a 6.1% rise from the previous month.

Conversely, high-sulfur marine fuel sales experienced a decline after peaking at an 18-month high, dropping by 8.2% to 188,637 cubic meters in August. This decrease in high-sulfur fuel sales occurred as the price differential between low-sulfur and high-sulfur fuel narrowed in August, following a significant widening of this gap in July.
