The global summit on Future Energy 2026, organized by RX Global, has recently concluded its 18th edition, marking it as the most impactful event in its history. The summit, held over three days, has solidified its role as a crucial platform for generating actionable outcomes, attracting investments, and setting up deals in the energy sector.
Taking place during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week hosted by Masdar from January 13 to 15, the summit saw extensive participation and exceptional international attendance, yielding tangible commercial outcomes and laying a solid foundation for investor confidence at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
This year’s events brought together influential figures from the sector and world-renowned companies that presented advanced solutions, alongside the presence of 15 heads of state from various countries.
The exhibition area spanned 16,408 square meters across nine halls, featuring 16 pavilions dedicated to different sectors and countries. Additionally, 515 exhibitors from 57 nations showcased innovations in emerging technologies, clean tech, green hydrogen, electric vehicle mobility, green finance, artificial intelligence, and more.
Over 51,200 attendees from 124 nations participated during the three-day exhibition. The largest delegations hailed from China, India, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Germany, the United States, Egypt, Jordan, and Oman.
Organizers attribute the summit’s remarkable performance to its strong alignment with regional government agendas, the UAE’s vigorous investment efforts in energy, ongoing partnership initiatives, and a commitment to creating new interaction platforms and continuous opportunities for trade throughout the year.
The commercial impact was equally significant; through an expanded and precisely targeted buying program, the summit facilitated over 3,000 meetings between exhibitors and buyers, with existing buyers’ projects valued at over $10 billion and expectations of attracting approximately $3 billion in direct investments.
The three-day agenda also included a series of high-level parallel events, such as the “Carbon Forward Middle East” exhibition and a summit on “Hydrogen and Advanced Fuels” held between the EU, GCC, and MENA regions.
Moreover, the International Renewable Energy Agency conducted its main conference, “Innovation Day,” at the summit venue, while the “Greenpeace” film showcase, executed in partnership with Greenpeace for the MENA region, provided a new visual storytelling approach through selected screenings and discussions. Dedicated clean technology zones, including “The Green House,” the Green Hydrogen Innovation Hub, and the “Fuse AI” area, enriched the experience, connecting more than 120 startups with investors, policymakers, and industry partners.
Throughout the conference and exhibition, leading experts and thought leaders discussed ambitions, preparedness, and practical pathways required for a global transition to clean energy. These priorities align with the UAE’s long-term commitments, including pledging $54 billion for investment in renewable energy by the end of this decade as part of its economic diversification strategy. Abu Dhabi continues to spearhead the energy transition in the country through 2025, driving unprecedented investments in both conventional and renewable energy sectors.
