Sharjah Expo and Syrian Exhibitions Explore Opportunities for Collaboration

The Sharjah Expo Center has engaged in discussions with the Syrian Agency for Exhibitions and International Markets regarding ways to enhance collaborative efforts in organizing and hosting exhibitions and economic events. The focus is also on exchanging expertise and developing partnerships that support the exhibition sector, thus strengthening its role as an effective platform for economic development and expanding commercial cooperation among business professionals and investors.

This dialogue took place during a visit by Mohammad Hamza, the general director of the Syrian Agency, to Saif Al-Midfa, the CEO of the Sharjah Expo Center. They explored methods to improve joint efforts to elevate the performance of the exhibitions and conferences industry, taking advantage of the significant capabilities of the Sharjah Expo Center in organizing major events. It also included exploring opportunities to attract Syrian companies and investors to partake in activities hosted by the center.

During the meeting, both parties exchanged their annual agendas for exhibitions and events planned for the year, facilitating coordination of participation and enhancing collaboration opportunities between companies and institutions from both sides, as well as identifying new areas for partnership in future economic and commercial activities.

Saif Al-Midfa emphasized the importance of Sharjah Expo Center’s commitment to diversifying its strategic partnerships with exhibition centers worldwide, particularly within the Arab region. This is aimed at bolstering the exhibitions and conferences sector, improving its performance and sustainable growth, and enabling it to continue playing a critical role in supporting economic recovery. He highlighted the significant contribution this vital sector makes to the economic growth of countries, noting that there are vast prospects for collaboration between the Sharjah Expo Center and the Syrian Agency for Exhibitions and International Markets. This includes organizing joint events and providing services and benefits for investors and visitors from both parties.

Additionally, he pointed out that the meeting served as an important platform for laying out action plans, foreseeing future opportunities, and coordinating efforts in the exhibitions and conferences sector, as well as unifying joint work to enhance its contribution to supporting various economic sectors in both countries. He assured that the Sharjah Expo Center is ready to provide all forms of support and facilities for Syrian companies eager to participate in diverse events at the Sharjah Expo Center. Mohammad Hamza praised the UAE’s pioneering experience in developing the exhibitions industry, mentioning that Sharjah stands out as an inspiring model in managing and organizing exhibitions.
