Hamid Mohammed bin Salem, the Secretary-General of the UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce, met with Yuda Nugraha, the Ambassador of Indonesia to the UAE, to discuss ways to enhance collaborative efforts aimed at strengthening trade relations between the private sectors of both nations. The two leaders explored the establishment of a joint business council that would benefit key industries such as technology, tourism, agricultural products, food, and logistics services.
The meeting took place at the Federation’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, where they reviewed potential avenues for advancing bilateral economic relations and discussed mechanisms to support the business environment in both countries.

The Secretary-General emphasized that the UAE’s business sector serves as a significant regional hub for trade and investment within the Middle East and North Africa, attracting substantial global capital due to the country’s financial stability, security, and open economic policies. He highlighted Indonesia’s status as one of the largest and most stable economies in Southeast Asia, which presents promising opportunities for deepening partnerships between the business communities of both countries. The UAE Federation of Chambers and its member chambers are keen to enhance collaborative efforts and offer various forms of support and services to foster trade and investment relations, thus facilitating partnerships and projects within vital sectors.
In response, the Indonesian Ambassador praised the notable progress in UAE-Indonesia relations across various fields. He appreciated the efforts of the chambers of commerce in both countries to bolster cooperation between their business communities and advance economic relations to new heights, underscoring the importance of ongoing coordination to solidify pathways for growth and development.
