The Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) as part of a strategic initiative designed to enhance procurement capabilities, supply chains, and raise professional standards within the organization.
This MoU aims to establish a collaborative framework between the parties for capacity building, promoting professionalism, knowledge exchange, and implementing global best practices in procurement and supply, thereby supporting institutional growth and improving performance efficiency.
The agreement was signed by Nasser Al Neyadi, CEO of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, and Sam Achampong, Regional Director of CIPS for the Middle East and North Africa, at the corporation’s headquarters at Rashid Port, attended by relevant executives and departments. Under the terms of this agreement, both parties will work together on joint initiatives and programs that include capacity building, skill development, organizing specialized events and forums, as well as exploring professional training and qualification pathways that align with accepted international standards, contributing to the establishment of a culture of excellence and innovation in this vital field.
Nasser Al Neyadi remarked that the signing of the MoU is a significant milestone in the development of the procurement and supply system within the corporation. He emphasized the partnership with CIPS as a reflection of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation’s commitment to adopting global best practices and enhancing professionalism in procurement and supply, which in turn supports institutional performance efficiency and improves the quality of services provided.
