Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, welcomed a delegation from Meta at the government buildings in Ajman yesterday. The discussion focused on collaboration in areas such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and the enhancement of the digital economy, all aimed at supporting the goals of Ajman’s Vision 2030.
The Crown Prince expressed his appreciation for Meta’s role as one of the leading technology firms globally.
He remarked that Ajman is committed to forging strategic partnerships with major tech companies to bolster its digital and economic presence, positioning the emirate as an attractive hub for investment and innovation while advancing its future plans in digital governance. He emphasized the importance of leveraging Meta’s capabilities to foster a business-friendly environment in Ajman and attract both regional and international investments, highlighting the emirate’s efforts to develop a comprehensive digital ecosystem that enhances its competitiveness for startups and innovative tech projects.
Sheikh Ammar emphasized that the Ajman government is focused on enhancing its readiness for the future and solidifying its status as a smart emirate capable of utilizing technology for the betterment of individuals and the community.
The Meta delegation included Fares Okad, Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, Mariam Al-Mheiri, Head of Public Policy for the Gulf Cooperation Council, and Ahmad Shahada, Head of Government Affairs for the Middle East and North Africa. The meeting addressed global best practices by Meta in developing the digital identity of cities and governments, reflecting their cultural and heritage presence while highlighting investment opportunities for regional and international audiences via modern communication platforms.
Additionally, they reviewed initiatives aimed at raising global awareness of Ajman’s tourism, cultural, and developmental assets.
The discussions also touched upon the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence and the competitive landscape among global companies. The Meta delegation confirmed that the world is entering a new phase that necessitates legislative and technical preparations for alignment.
Representatives from Meta presented initiatives focused on empowering digital talent, enhancing youth skills, and developing training programs aimed at government employees, students, and entrepreneurs.
