The Dubai Data and Statistics Authority, part of Dubai Digital, has launched the Economic Survey for 2025, focusing on the business sector and covering vital economic activities. This survey aims to provide updated data and indicators reflecting the progress of economic activities and their contributions to the gross domestic product (GDP).
The authority explained that the survey will be conducted through various communication channels, with participants required to complete an online form. Additionally, it will include field visits to several private sector establishments within the targeted sample, urging cooperation from these businesses to provide researchers with the necessary data according to the approved statistical form.
Younes Al Nasser, the CEO of the Dubai Data and Statistics Authority, emphasized the significance of the survey and called for active participation from the business community. He stated, “In light of the rapid changes characterizing the age of data, digitization, and artificial intelligence, the centrality of data has become a crucial element in supporting decision-making processes and strategic planning for the future. Digital data directly contributes to the establishment of scientifically accurate policies, and economic surveys are essential for measuring economic performance, particularly GDP and economic indicators that reflect the reality of the economic activity in the emirate.”
This economic survey is part of our efforts to enhance the resilience and competitiveness of Dubai’s economy by providing updated and comprehensive databases covering various vital sectors. We hope that the outputs of this survey will serve as a key knowledge base that enables decision-makers to identify opportunities and address challenges effectively and efficiently, contributing to building a more prosperous and sustainable economic future.
He added, “This survey embodies a central aspect of supporting efforts to achieve the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to establish Dubai as a global economic capital by providing accurate data to measure economic indicators, primarily the emirate’s GDP.”
Furthermore, the survey and related assessments underscore the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors, in line with our leadership’s vision and directives. We invite all stakeholders to participate actively in the survey by providing financial data while assuring that we will adhere closely to confidentiality and privacy requirements according to established norms in this context.
The survey will encompass various sectors, including industry, agriculture, health, education, technology and information, finance and insurance, trade, real estate, transportation, construction, services, culture and arts, hotels, and restaurants, along with representation from all free zones in the emirate.
The outputs of the survey are essential for measuring economic indicators in Dubai, as it provides updated and reliable data that reflect the evolution of economic activities and their actual contributions to supporting the emirate’s economy. The results will also help build an integrated economic framework that supports the tangible development of vital activities, positively impacting the competitiveness of the business environment. Additionally, the survey will be a primary source for supplying decision-makers with accurate information and in-depth analyses that enhance strategic planning efficiency and support the formulation of future policies aiming to achieve the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
